32 Sub Inspectors inducted into CBI

32 SUB INSPECTORS INDUCTED INTO CBI
AFTER SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETING THE TRAINING
12-6-2014 : The Investiture Ceremony of the 17th Batch of Sub-Inspector Cadets of CBI was held at CBI Academy, Ghaziabad today. Shri Ranjit Sinha, Director, CBI was the Chief Guest during the Ceremony. A fresh batch of 32 Sub Inspectors, including two women officers, were inducted into the CBI after successful completion of training. The Sub Inspectors took oath to serve the Nation, uphold the Constitution and follow the motto of CBI: Industry, Impartiality, Integrity.
  Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ranjit Sinha, Director,CBI urged the passing out officers “to exhibit highest standards of integrity and professionalism” in work which has been the hallmark of CBI. Shri Sinha said, “Investigation is the result of honest hard work with patience and need to be done within the parameters of Law”.
  Giving an overview of the premier investigative agency, Director Shri Ranjit Sinha said that the horizon of CBI has broadened in the last many years from an anti-corruption agency to investigation of conventional crime, economic crimes, bank frauds, cyber crimes and crimes having trans-national ramifications. He advised the young officers to evolve as professionals and keep themselves updated in latest investigation techniques as well as legal issues to handle the gamut of cases which are being handled by the CBI.
  The 17th batch of Sub Inspector cadets joined the Academy in October, 2013. There are 32 cadets, out of which 21 are directly recruited through SSC and 11 are through Departmental exams’. The batch consists of 2 lady officers also. The batch is talented and from diversified background - 5 Engineers, 8 B.Tech degrees in Computers, 2 MBAs and 2 BBAs. In the group, there are 3 former Bank officials, one each from IT Sector & FCI.
  Shri Anil Sinha, Special Director, CBI; Smt. Archana Ramasundram & Shri R.K. Dutta, Additional Directors, CBI; Shri O.P.Verma, Director of Prosecution and other senior officers of CBI were also present. The faculty members, retired officers and family members of the passing out cadets besides district authorities of Ghaziabad were also present to witness the ceremony.
  Dr.G.K.Goswami, DIG(Training), CBI submitted a report on the comprehensive training received by the Cadets. The training was imparted under the visionary guidance & supervision of a dedicated team of officers. The Sub Inspectors have been trained in the investigation of Anti-Corruption Cases, different types of Conventional Crimes, the ways & means of collecting the evidence as well as intelligence, drug related offences, human trafficking, wildlife crimes, investigation of cyber crime cases, collection of volatile data and seizure of hard disk, mobile forensics, forensic medicine, forensic science, investigation of crimes related to bank frauds, security frauds and other types of economic offences etc. The training was imparted mainly at the CBI Academy, Ghaziabad. The officers were exposed to working of CFSL, AIIMS, Indian Law Institute, NICFS and other specialized organizations during this period.
  The cadets were also given special training on Computer skills, Driving, Shooting, Judo, Yoga, Unarmed Combat, soft skills, gender sensitization and human rights. Emphasis was laid not only on preparing these Cadets for the challenges they would be facing in the field of investigation in the years and decades to come, but also to make them good human beings & sensitive to the needs of the society.
   Director, CBI also gave away prizes to three out of the 32 pass-out officers who had been adjudged the best in 7 category for exhibiting performance of a very high standard.
