CBI registers case against two police officials of Uttar Pradesh

CBI REGISTERS A CASE AGAINST THREE PRIVATE PERSONS AND TWO POLICE OFFICIALS OF UTTAR PRADESH STATE RELATING TO AN ALLEGED RAPE & MURDER OF TWO GIRLS AT BADAUN
   The Central Bureau of Investigation has today registered a case U/s 376-D/302/120-B IPC and Sec.3/4 of the POCSO Act against three private persons, residents of Katra, Sahadat Gunj (East), Badaun, (Uttar Pradesh); two Police Officials (One Head Constable & One Constable) of Police Station Ushait, Badaun and unknown others relating to an alleged rape & murder of two sisters in District Badaun on the request of Uttar Pradesh Government and further Notification from Govt of India.
   It was alleged that in the evening of 27/05/2014, two minor girls had gone to the field when three accused of the same village abducted them. The witnesses to this abduction went to the Police Post Katra, Sahadat Gunj and reported the matter to Head Constable & Constable, but instead of taking action, they allegedly slapped and abused them. The matter was also brought to the notice of the officer incharge of Police Station but the police allegedly did not act. Later on, it was found that the two minor girls were allegedly gang-raped & killed and their bodies were hung on a tree outside the village.
  CBI took up the investigation of the case which was earlier registered by the State Police. A team of around 20 members headed by a DIG including forensic experts is proceeding to Badaun (U.P) for further investigation.
